Cockatiel White Face

The Cockatiel is a small dog of friendly temperament, typically living its lifetime. It is well suited to Chandigarh, where walkable sectors and designed-in green give it more outdoor time than a denser city would allow.

Plan for two genuine seasons. Warmth at night through the winter, shade and water through the summer - the adjustment is mostly about where it sleeps rather than what it eats.

Seasonal care for a Cockatiel

• Two seasons: warmth off the floor through the January nights, shade and water through the summer.
• Paws: check between the pads after every walk; this is where problems start and get missed.
• Exercise: two walks a day, and do not over-exercise a young dog while the joints are still forming.
• Feeding: portioned to the adult size, with any brand change phased over a week.
• Documents: kept with your own, for the next vet who asks.
