Raising a Dusky Lorikeet in Kangra: local climate
Summer here peaks in June at about 37°C. That is manageable for a Dusky Lorikeet: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.
Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 8°C. A light sweater helps a small Dusky Lorikeet on the coldest nights.
The rainy season runs from July to August, and July is usually the wettest month. Keep the cage out of damp corners and change the paper daily.
For a new Dusky Lorikeet bird, the easiest months to arrive are March, April, October and November: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.

Climate figures: NASA POWER long-term monthly averages for a roughly 50 km area around the city, so rain near hills or the coast can read higher than in the city itself.
